Throwing Strength – Towel Drill

The off-season is the perfect time to train up arm strength by different means that aren’t traditional throwing-catching. This simple drill will give your arm the resistance you need, to avoid injuries from “dry throwing”. Dry throwing is going through a throwing motion with no resistance, which can cause injuries in the future.

Follow this drill by yourself, or with a partner. Your goal is to create the whipping motion, coming from the top down. The more whip you hear, the better you are doing it. Just like with any drill, if you video yourself and replay, you’ll get a better idea of how you look, and what you can do better.

It’s off season. Don’t overdo it. But a couple minutes of reps is great for a days work.
